Ann McGillicuddy - President - term expires 2014:
Mrs. McGillicuddy has been on the school board since July 2008, serving as vice-president for 2 of those years. Her second term has just begun and will expire in June 2014. Ann has been serving on the BOE policy committe for the last 3 years and will chair the newly formed Legislative Action Committee. As president, she is a standing member of all committees. Besides being a mom, weaver, knitter, and quilter Ann enjoys helping out in the community. She is a Hudson River native who comes from a family of educators and historians. Ann and her husband moved to the Onteora district 10 years ago from Kingston to raise their family in the Catskill Mountains.
Tony Fletcher - Vice-President - term expires 2012 :
Mr. Fletcher has lived in New York State since 1988, and in the Catskills region since 2005. A British-born author and journalist, with several music biographies to his name, he regularly attended board meetings for three years before seeking election in 2009. He lives on the border of Woodstock and Shandaken and has one son currently in the Onteora High School with another shortly to enter the elementary system. He served on the Communications Committee in 2008-09.
Dan Spencer - term expires 2014:
Mr. Spencer was
appointed to a vacant Board of Education seat in March of 2009 and is now
serving on his second term. Dan currently serves as Chair of the Audit
Committee. Upon graduation from Attica Sr High-school he then attended SUNY at
Delhi earning a degree in Civil Technology. He then completed his Bachelors in
Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. Dan
has been fortunate to travel abroad giving him a true appreciation for
the diversity of people and cultures. After living in the area for 20+ years he
hopes to someday be considered a local. His love of the Catskills and its
communities drives his efforts as a trustee at Onteora. He works as
an Application Engineer and Project Manager at Ametek Rotron in Woodstock which
supports his volunteer service on the Woodstock Rescue Squad , Company 5
Ambulance Crew as a Certified First Responder.
Michael McKeon - term expires 2014:
Laurie Osmond - term expires 2012:
Ms.Osmond has been on the Onteora School Board since 2008. During that time, she has been an active member of the Onteora Green Committee and Policy Committee, and is currently chair of the Green Committee. She is a mother and a self-employed media producer, editor and writer. Ms. Osmond has lived in the area since 2004.
Tom Hickey - term expires 2013:
Tom Hickey has followed Board of Education meetings since moving into the Shandaken area in 2003, and was appointed to a vacant seat in Sept of 2009, and won a three-year term in the last election. Tom has two sons currently at the High School and is a retired business consultant, currently working on a Masters in Business Administration, and enjoys reading, chess and oil painting.
He serves on the Board of Education because he is passionate about quality education and preparing our children for success in their future lives. He believes in accountability at all levels, and working hard to ensure the best education in the most cost efficient way.
