Health Education is a class for personal discovery. Over the course of the year, my goal is to help you learn skills to improve your physical, mental, and social health.
Topics discussed this year include, but are not limited to:
Self Management, Communication, Mental Health, Stress, Decision Making, Planning & Goal Setting, Physical Activity & Nutrition, Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, Relationship Management, and Sexual Health.
Materials
You will need the following items in class every day:
- 3 ring binder
- Lined paper
- Pencil or pen
- Assignment pad
- Set of dividers to keep your notebook organized (optional)
Absences
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to speak to the teacher to review what you have missed.
When turning in an assignment after you have been absent, make sure to write ABSENT across the top to receive full credit.
Other Important Info
Each class, students are expected to be ready to learn as soon as the bell rings. This means that sharpening pencils, bathroom use, and water breaks should be taken care of ahead of time.
Students will be permitted to have a water bottle at their desks but I do ask that all food is disposed of or put away before entering the classroom.
My office is next to room 163. You can usually find me there when I am not teaching.
I hope to have an exciting and productive year. If all goes well, I know you will be using what you have learned in Health for many years to come.
