From The Inside Flap
"The concept of bucket filling is an effective metaphor for encouraging kind and considerate behavior and for teaching the benefits of positive relationships. "

You can fill someones bucket by:
  • saying "Please" and "Thank You"
  • telling them "Good Morning" or "Have a Good Day"
  • helping a classmate with homework
  • telling someone they did a good job
  • spending time with them
  • encouraging them to do a difficult task or "you did your best, it's okay"
  • pick them for your team in PE
Examples of dipping:
  • Ignore people when they speak to you
  • say mean things or call names
  • cut in line
  • not doing chores or homework
  • cutting in line
  • not staying in your seat on the bus
