Dear Onteora community and parents,

My name is Mr. D. Schimmelpfennig and I have the privilege of beginning my first year as assistant principal at Onteora High School. It is a great honor to assist Mr. Edelman in the overseeing of our school and its 550 or more students. We have a large faculty committed to providing an excellent education to our students. They implement a variety of research based strategies and differentiated activities in conjunction with a rigorous curriculum and high expectations to ensure the needs of all students are met.

My wife and I live in Hyde Park with two of three children.  Our youngest son will be in 10^th grade and our daughter will be starting college this September.  Our eldest son is a US Marine. 

Of course, instruction, accountability, and student success are my priority. However, I realize there are many aspects to school. That being said, if you have any questions regarding tardy policy, dress code, attendance, or discipline please do not hesitate to contact me. I believe it is vital to the success of your child that we work in partnership at Onteora High School.
