The Ulster County Comptroller’s Office advises that the best number to call at the Ulster County level for any child care issue is the Department of Social Services Child Care Unit at 845-334-5489. The office is open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday. The Department’s website, located at https://ulstercountyny.gov/social-services/day-care-unit, includes information on a child care subsidy program.

In addition, Child Care Connections, located at www.familyofwoodstockinc.org/ccc/ is a free referral service offering assistance in many areas pertaining to child care, including day care referrals, summer recreation information, nursery schools, Pre-K programs, and cost and subsidy information. In Ulster County, call 845-331-7080 to speak with a child care manager, who will be able to assist you in making an informed choice for child care. This service is available Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-5 PM and Friday, 8 AM-4 PM. In Greene/Columbia Counties, child care managers can be reached at 518-822-1944 Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4 PM.
