Thank you to everyone who came out for “Meet, Greet, and Eat”! Once again, the Onteora community showed just how special it is—what an incredible turnout!
Guests were welcomed by a display of beautiful student artwork, as well as by a lively silent auction featuring generous donations from local businesses and community members. There was also a detailed display of the District’s architectural plans, and Board of Education trustees and administrators were on hand to discuss them and answer questions.
Then came the food—which no one could resist! Delicious aromas filled the cafeteria, drawing in guests with the promise of something special. As community members mingled, hugging old friends and making new ones, they sampled an incredible variety of dishes that truly showcased the flavors of our region. It was a night full of laughter, connection, and unforgettable bites!
There are so many we’d like to thank for contributing to the huge success of this event. First off, thank you to our many participating restaurants, especially Peekamoose Restaurant, which provided a most delicious selection of culinary delights!
We’re also grateful to the talented Onteora musicians who provided the wonderful entertainment under the direction of Music teacher Harvey Boyer.
Thanks are also due to the Onteora Booster Club, which ran the silent auction, as well as to the Bennett PTA, First Steps Preschool, and Woodland Playhouse, which provided fun activities for our younger community members to enjoy.
We’re also grateful to the Onteora Food Services department, which offered smoothies and some great, healthy food selections, and to Onteora High School student Joey Reese, who showed off some of the culinary skills he has honed while participating in the Ulster BOCES Culinary program.
We’d also like to extend our gratitude to the many student volunteers who helped to make the event run smoothly by serving as ticket-takers, dishwashers, and clean-up staff. Kudos are also due to our Art students and teachers, who created the event’s eye-catching display, as well as to the Art students and pre-K programs that provided beautifully made paper flower bouquets for each table.
And last but not least, thank YOU all for coming!
