Create a Districtwide K-5 Elementary School – $26,900,000
Proposition 1 proposes investing $26.9 million to create a K-5 elementary school—the grade configuration preferred by the Board of Education and administration—that is efficient, safe, and modern. The District will have a Central Campus starting in the 2028-2029 school year, and for Grade 5 to remain in the Elementary School, more classrooms are required
- Bennett Additions - New Space for Grades K-5 Configuration
- Build eight general classrooms.
- Include restrooms in kindergarten classrooms and in the hallway.
- Add a purposefully designed Art Room that is about 25% larger, with access to a kiln and space to display student work.
- Expand the Library by about 36% for more books and student interaction.
- Relocate the Main Office to the new primary entrance.
- Add an intentionally designed security vestibule.
- Replace the outside portable toilet with restrooms for athletes and spectators.
- Update electrical service to enable air conditioning in all new and renovated space, and allow for future A/C expansion in other rooms.
- Replace aging boilers and increase capacity to serve an expanded building.
- Establish a safer pathway for student drop-off/pick-up, separating pedestrians and vehicles.
- Swap the current play area and staff parking; providing an improved play environment and additional parking.
- Replace the old and undersized sanitary sewer line.
- Realign the drainage system at the front of the school.
- Remediate drainage issues at bus loop exit.
- Remove the nearly 40-year-old underground fuel tank and replace it above-ground in a new location.
