School Tax Information

THE 25-26 TAX COLLECTION SEASON WILL BEGIN SEPT. 1, 2025. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL: TAXCOLLECTOR@ONTEORA.K12.NY.US

School tax bills will be mailed to all taxpayers on or around August 30, 2025. If your taxes are escrowed through a bank, please forward the bill to your bank.

The tax collection period is:

September 1, 2025 - September 30, 2025, without payment of penalty
October 1, 2025 – October 31, 2025 with a 1% penalty
November 1, 2025 – November 4, 2025 with a 2% penalty
No taxes will be accepted after 11/4/25

Mail the tax bill coupon along with payment to:

Payments must be postmarked by due date to avoid penalties.

Payments may be made in person by cash, check or money order 

The District now accepts credit cards, debit cards and e-checks.
Electronic payments can be made here.
Only full payments will be accepted for payment by credit/debit card or e-check.
A convenience fee will be charged. The fees are not being collected by the Onteora Central School District.

Notes:

• Please include your phone number on checks!
• ​​Make checks payable to Tax Collector
• Post-dated checks will be returned immediately
• Installment payments – If you are paying in installments, the first payment MUST be 50% of the total bill in order to be accepted. If it is not, the check will be returned.
