Board Member Biographies
MEET THE BOARD MEMBERS
Emily Sherry lives in Woodstock and is the co-owner of Provisions Woodstock, and the COO (and one of the original founders) of The Table at Woodstock (501c3). The Table is a feeding program administered by Provisions that provides meals & grocery boxes to individuals & families (in need) in the Onteora District - at no cost. Emily has four children – 3 who attend/attended OCSD. Emily’s oldest daughter is studying Phlebotomy, her middle daughter is a 2018 Onteora graduate, currently Pre-Law at Hobart & William Smith Colleges, one son is a Freshman, and the other a 6th grader at Bennett. Prior to joining the restaurant industry, Emily was a Social Worker for many years, traveled extensively as the General Manager of an Extreme Sports Team, and served as the Chief Operating Officer of two successful food driven companies. Emily has extensive training in mediation, working with children & adolescents, communication, resource building and problem solving. Emily holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and is completing a Masters in Higher Education.
Valerie Storey was born and raised in the Onteora District - both she and her husband, Marshall, are graduates of Onteora. Ms. Storey has two children one is currently enrolled at the MS/HS, the other is a graduate. She has been on numerous committees concerning the future of our children. She has been on the District Comprehensive Planning Team: for later start time for the MS/HS. She enjoys reading, camping, and spending as much time as possible with her family.
Cindy Bishop has lived in Hurley for nine years. Cindy was Onteora’s Director of Pupil Personnel Services starting in May 2012, until she retired in June 2021. Her previous work experience includes serving as a general education teacher, special education teacher, and summer school principal; a special education training and resource center coordinator for Ulster BOCES; and the director of special education for the Hyde Park Central School District. Cindy holds a master’s degree in Special Education for Kindergarten through Grade 12, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education for Pre-K through Grade 6, both issued by SUNY New Paltz. She also earned an associate’s degree in Business from SUNY Orange and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Cindy has a granddaughter who attended Onteora’s Universal PreK program at Beginnings Preschool, and is currently attending Bennett Elementary School where she is fully enjoying 5th grade. Cindy's community service includes serving as a member of Woodstock Immigrant Support, volunteering at Needful Things - Curated Thrift in support of the Table at Woodstock, and volunteering for the Hurley Democratic Committee.
David Wallis is the parent of a student at Onteora Middle School. Since 2017, he has served as managing director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, an award-winning nonprofit newsroom. Previously, David served as opinion editor of the Forward and deputy editor of The New York Observer, where he oversaw education coverage. David, who has contributed to The New Yorker, The Washington Post and The New York Times and edited two critically acclaimed books, Killed: Great Journalism Too Hot To Print and Killed Cartoons: Casualties from the War on Free Expression. David graduated from the Gallatin School at New York University.
Meghann Reimondo has been a Woodstock resident for 15 years. Mrs. Reimondo has two children. Her daughter Mira attends Ulster BOCES in Port Ewen CITL Campus and her son attends the high school. She owns two local businesses, Mira’s Naturals, and The Empowered
Approach. Her diverse business, finance, and administration background have allowed her to support other companies and start-up entrepreneurs to reach their goals and grow their businesses. Having a daughter with special needs has led her to become an advocate and
support for children and families for the past 17 years. She is dedicated to helping others and has been raised to be of service to her community.
Sarah Hemingway Lynch was elected to the School Board for the Onteora Central School District in 2022. She is a Senior Public Policy Consultant with Global Health Visions. She is currently an advisor in the Gender Equality Division at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She is a partner to mission driven social justice organizations providing overall planning, management, and execution of complex strategies that help organizations improve the impact they want to have in the world. She has over 20 years of experience in non-profit senior management, most recently at CARE, a global humanitarian organization. At CARE, she built the global advocacy program, and led the strategy, fundraising and implementation of cross-cutting initiatives to further CARE’s advocacy agenda and provide insight on partnerships and initiatives that are locally led and globally connected. Throughout her career, Sarah has always worked to listen and amplify important stories to inform decision makers and policy makers when it matters. She was granted a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Boston University. She and her husband, Marty Lynch, live in West Shokan, to raise their three children who all graduated from Woodland Playhouse and now attend Onteora Schools. Sarah and Marty run a community coffee shop and market called Marty’s Mercantile. Sarah serves on the AYSO soccer board and the Onteora United Soccer board.
Kristy Taylor lives in Olivebridge and has been a registered nurse for 24 years with the majority of her career being in critical care. She attended Ulster County Community College and received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Suny New Paltz. Kristy also worked for the District for several years as a Substitute Nurse. She had the pleasure of working in all of the district buildings in this role. She has been a resident of Olivebrdige since 1995, and is married with two daughters that attend Onteora High School.
