Ulster County Transition Council 2021-2022 School Year Information Meeting Schedule

Please join the Ulster Transition Council to learn about services and supports for transition age youth with disabilities. The Ulster County Transition Council is made up of School Districts, County and State Agencies, and Community Organizations all committed to the success of students and young adults with disabilities in Ulster County. The meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Friday of each month through June 2022 from 9am-10:30am; see below for a list of topics covered at each meeting. Email hnichols@rcal.org for the zoom link. All are welcome.

12/17/21 SSJ/Eligibility- Learn about the SSI eligibility process for students, as well as SSA programs to support students who are already eligible. 
01/21/22  Transportation- Learn about transportation options in Ulster County and the process to support students with disabilities remove barriers to access transportation. 
02/18/22  Social Connectedness- Learn about options for students after high school to help them feel connected and have full participation in their community. 
03/18/22  Summer Programs -Learn about the summer programs available in Ulster County for youth with disabilities. 
04/15/22  Self-Advocacy- Information on self-advocacy for students, families and ways that school districts can include self-advocacy as part of the way that districts support students. 
05/20/22  Pre-Ets, WIOA, and Employment- Understanding WIOA and what that means for youth ages 14-24 and how it can benefits students to maximize supports offered to eligible students.
